The East Central High School Parent Teacher Student Association has been selected as one of 100 recipients across the country to receive a grant aimed at promoting social media safety. This initiative is part of a broader effort to address the growing concerns regarding the impact of social media on youth, particularly in the wake of increasing incidents related to online behavior and mental health.
The grant will enable the PTSA to implement educational programs and resources designed to equip students, parents, and educators with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate social media responsibly. Workshops, informational sessions, and interactive activities will be organized to foster discussions around safe online practices, cyberbullying prevention, and digital citizenship.
PTSA officials expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunity, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for students in the digital age. The initiative aims not only to raise awareness but also to empower the community to take proactive steps in ensuring the well-being of its youth in an increasingly connected world.
