Candace Cameron Bure, best known for her role on "Full House," recently opened up about a straightforward parenting lesson she picked up from her sister. In a candid moment, she admitted she used to be the type of mother who would immediately jump in to help her children, often saying, "Here, let me..." and taking over tasks for them.
The actress explained that her sister, who is also a mother, taught her the value of stepping back and letting kids handle things on their own. Bure realized that by constantly intervening, she was not allowing her children to develop independence and problem-solving skills. The lesson was simple but powerful: resist the urge to fix everything for them.
She noted that it can be hard for parents to watch their children struggle, but that struggle is often necessary for growth. Bure now tries to give her kids space to figure things out, even when it means watching them make mistakes. She emphasized that this approach has helped her children become more confident and self-reliant. The shift in her parenting style was a direct result of observing her sister's more hands-off method, which she now sees as a gift to her kids.
