Single Mom from Texas Reveals the One Thing She Hates About Co-Parenting that Makes Her Judge Herself: ‘I Truly am Disgusted’

A single mother from Texas is speaking honestly about the one part of co-parenting that makes her judge herself harshly every single day. In a raw confession that has struck a chord with many parents, she admitted that she feels "truly disgusted" by her own behavior when it comes to sharing custody of her child with her ex.

The woman, who co-parents with her child's father, explained that the hardest part is not the logistics or the scheduling conflicts. Instead, it is the feeling of relief she gets when her son goes to his dad's house. She described how she looks forward to the break, only to immediately feel guilty for wanting time away from her own child. That guilt spirals into self-loathing, making her question whether she is a good mother.

"I hate that I count down the hours until he leaves," she shared. "I love my son more than anything, but when he walks out that door, I feel this weight lift off my shoulders. And then I hate myself for feeling that way."

She went on to say that she judges herself for not being able to handle the constant demands of parenting without needing a break. The internal conflict has left her feeling isolated, as she worries that admitting this makes her seem ungrateful or unloving. Many other single parents have responded to her story, saying they experience the same shame and that her honesty helps them feel less alone.
