Teen Mom alum Kailyn Lowry says she spent years feeling painted as the bad guy in her own life. The reality star, who is set to launch her live podcast tour "Fatherless Behavior" on June 17, opened up about how her time on television warped the public's view of her co-parenting struggles.
In a recent interview, Lowry explained that the way her story was edited and presented on MTV created a lasting image that she could not shake. She said viewers saw a one-sided version of her relationships with the fathers of her children, which made her look like the difficult one. The constant scrutiny, she noted, left her feeling "villainized" for years. She felt that every disagreement or challenge in her co-parenting journey was framed as her fault, with little context given for her side of the story.
Lowry admitted that the experience of growing up on reality TV was a double-edged sword. While it gave her a platform and financial stability, it also locked her into a character that the audience loved to hate. She believes that the drama-driven nature of the show made it impossible for viewers to see the full picture of her life as a mother trying to navigate complicated relationships.
Now, as she prepares for her live tour, Lowry is ready to take control of her own narrative. "Fatherless Behavior" is expected to tackle these very topics, allowing her to speak directly to her fans without the filter of a production team. She hopes that by sharing her truth on her own terms, she can finally move past the label of the villain and be seen for who she really is.
