Jennifer Lopez says she does not see herself as a strict parent, but she has made sure her twins, Max and Emme, grow up with a strong sense of responsibility. In a recent interview, the singer and actress explained that her parenting philosophy is straightforward: she wants her children to understand the value of hard work.
Lopez, who shares the 16-year-old twins with ex-husband Marc Anthony, said she focuses on teaching them to be independent and grounded. Rather than enforcing rigid rules, she leads by example and encourages them to pursue their own goals. "I want them to know that nothing comes easy," she said. "You have to put in the effort."
The star noted that she does not spoil her children despite their privileged lifestyle. She believes in giving them opportunities but also holding them accountable. For Lopez, the key is balance. She lets them make mistakes and learn from them, which she feels builds character.
Her approach seems simple, but she emphasized that consistency matters. By showing her kids that she works hard for her own success, she hopes they will carry that same drive into their own lives. Lopez added that she is proud of how Max and Emme have turned out so far, describing them as thoughtful and determined young people.
